I’m a writer. I write about the economics of everyday life in my books and as a columnist. I also present some radio and TV. You can find out more from my biography.

Actually, I am, at The Undercover Economist blog, hosted by the Financial Times. You can post comments over there, too. Although this site has an RSS feed I try to limit it to my articles and selected news about my books.
Can I download photos?
Yes, and book cover images too. Please credit the photographer, Fran Monks. All the images are available on the Undercover Economist site on Flickr.
Do you give talks?
Yes. In fact, I’m rather proud of them, and have won awards for my speaking. These guys handle my speaking engagements. My event schedule is here.
You have a face for radio: do you take advantage of it?
Absolutely. I am the new presenter of the Radio 4 series, More or Less, about the way numbers are used and abused, especially by the media. Check out my biography for other TV & Radio escapades.
How do I find your articles on this site?
On the right hand side is a list of article categories. They’re all here, so click on a category. “Highlights” is just what I’m temporarily putting on the front page. “Notable” gives you my favourites. “Other writing” gives you pieces from Forbes, the New York Times, the BBC, Esquire and other places.
Or you can search from the bottom of the page. The search bar seems to work very well.
Why so many ”Undercover Economist” links?
It’s simple. First there was the book, “The Undercover Economist”. Then there was the column of the same name. Then the blog. I’m working on the movie: I reckon I should be played by Steve Buscemi.
Do you read your emails?
Yes. I try to answer them, too. But I don’t promise to do that quickly. Some emails - about speaking requests, translations and so on - are best directed to my agents. I also have a Facebook account, but I am trying to keep that for people who know me in person. If you only know me through my writing, please just use email.
