I guess we’ve all encountered those entrenched figures in senior management who spend their whole time avoiding risky decisions, because they will never get fired if nothing is done, only if a mistake is made. But since organizations can’t progress without a willingness to make mistakes, how do we create a framework that allows that?

I would suggest that in this case you failed to pick the correct medium for your message.
Why make assumptions about how long it takes to read each quote? In my specific case (not entirely a native English speaker) I had to pause some quotes and wait for others to change.
Just plain text (with optional images) would have been more effective IMHO (as well as being searchable).
